Countdown to the Wembley Park cherry blossom display🌸

Trees in Wembley Park | In 2025, the first cherry blossom on Market Square was recorded on 31st March, with the 19x Prunus avium ‘Plena’ trees reaching peak bloom about eight days later.

In early spring, many flowering plants have not yet bloomed. Cherry trees (Prunus species) produce blossoms early, offering a reliable early-spring food source for a wide range of pollinating insects -including bees- that are emerging from the cold, wet winter.

Why not use wembleypark.greentalk.io/walks to create a Wembley Park walking route between the Prunus avium ‘Plena’ on Market Square and the Prunus serrulata on South Way/White Horse Square.

Prunus avium ‘Plena’ (Double Gean or Double flowered Wild Cherry) - A spectacular double-flowered variety of our native wild cherry which has been in cultivation for over 200 years.
